I dunno, you'll be able to catch a hangover with that tackle.

No, you can rent the rod/reel at the office (I think GJ stated that rod rental is part of the price). Bait is provided, and is usually a combination of live chovies and cut squid.

Tackle will be your hooks, weights, jigs, cutters, and a hand towel to wipe bait guts off your hands.

They will either be shallow-water or deep-water bottom fishing for rock cod (but might stop at one of the islands if the white seabass or halibut are on the chew). Most likely, it will be shallow water bottom fishing (100-300 ft down)

40# line is perfect if you are bringing you own rod/reel. You will need 2/0 and 3/0 bait hooks, 8-10-12 Oz torpedo weights, and a pair of cutters or needle nose/w cutter to cut line and remove hooks from fish. That's really all you need for this type of fishing; just drop to the bottom, fish eats, you reel. You should probably learn to tie a "dropper loop" too.

Bring some rope to the meet and greet and we can have a rope tying class. Plus I'm sure somebody will tie the knots for a beer.

Tackle should be around $20 MFDD was correct in his description of the tackle.

1 day Fishing license (if you don't already have one) is $15

We can go almost any week day. If the 20th doesn't work post up some ideas so we can try and find a date that more of us can go.

There are other charters, they will just be more expensive and not usually let us bring our own alcohol. I will check around. I know this boat has weekends available starting in October, but that seems a bit far away.

You all suck unless someone wants to pay for a plan ticket from Okinawa, Japan. :thefinger: On that note I have an extra rod and reel if someone needs it. GJ you can raid my garage for extra tackle to help out just bring back what you don't lose. I don't think there is much left but you can look around.
Chris I don't think you'll be getting much WSB or halibut it will be to late in the year. Rock fish and lings could be good.

The Mirage and Pacific Islander both got into some nice WSB yesterday. I go on a private boat with a buddy several times each summer and we usually do pretty good late summer on the WSB at grey light when they come up from the deep. This is the time of year where you get the really big ones. We get a few butts too, right at the edge of the kelp line.

Wow I've never had much luck after July for WSB. If your real lucky they have been catching yellow out of ci.
