Ok so I know some people can't get Friday off so I just talked to Mikey and we may head up Friday night or sat morning. So if anyone wants to run up with us and meet up with everyone on sat let me know

We've had a small group come in on Sat morning plenty of times. Just coordinate with each other. I'd suggest coming up Fri night, then hitting the trail reasonably early on Sat morning. With a smaller group it can go pretty quickly. Two to four rigs can make it to camp by noon if there are no mechanical problems. The trail is roughly 14 miles long, plus the access roads, and the lake is about halfway.

Damn, I really would love to go but with wedding expenses piling up and me spending all my money on my motorcycle lately, I have no money for real sliders for my ride. I haven't been wheeling in almost 2 years now and I'm itchy

Your factory Rubi sliders will be fine for Swamp Lake. Dozens of people run it in stock rubis every year. I would worry more about getting chromoly axle shafts.

I don't have the factory sliders, the previous owner took them off and put on these stupid steps

Yes it is, which is why I am reluctant to go anywhere without proper armor.

I think a good step to take at this point is to take them off so you can gain a little bit of break over angle.

They dont look any lower than the frame so I doubt its gonna help with breakover. Bet theyd push right up into the body if he came down on them though so that might be a reason to didtch them.

Ok that may be an idea then. I know Mikey and i have been talking and im sure ill be hearing from some others on the 4x4him group since they posted the run as well. Seems like this should be a big run this year.

I want to ditch them so badly, but my fiancé is short and complains that she can barely get in with them on there. So until I get some sliders with a step, I'm kind of screwed.

Get a grab Handel so she can pull herself up. The sliders W/ steps won't be any easier because the steps are about the same height as the door. Just an idea.

I have grab handles on the roll bar, but I am thinking of getting the Rock Hard sport cage with the A pillar grab handles when money allows so she has another point to grab on. As for the sliders having a step the same height as the door, I know that, but she doesn't. Yet.

Ive seen people on trails just use a small foldable footstool with a rope attached to it. You climb in and then haul the stool up with the rope.
