Noob/Ball & Chain Run

If you are thinking about doing a run and just want to put it out there, this is the place to do it.

Noob/Ball & Chain Run

Postby TheBigDogg » January 4th, 2013, 1:28 am

I will be working on the flyer for the Noob/Ball & Chain run all next week, I would like some input on what we want to do as far as getting more people to this event, this is usally IOR's biggest event. The event will be March 23-24, 2013 out at Hungry Valley(Gorman, CA). Is there anyone that has access to a nice size BBQ that we can use, Brian was able to get Weatherfords 2 yrs ago and that helped make that years event a big success. Lets make 2013 the best Noob/Ball & Chain Run ever!!!

I have a uncle who rents out his bbq trailer. I'll try and get a price.

I propose that we setup scheduled classes, I.e. how to safely winch, basics of spotting, how to use a highlift Jack without killing yourself or others.

Also have at least one easy trail run for people that are not comfortable in their vehicles yet.

If you need help with the flyer let me know.

Also lets post this thing everywhere. I also plan on seeing about getting a huge raffle for this one. I plan to call vendors and see what kind of support we can get.

While it was amazingly tasty... I don't think you can call that moonshine! It wouldn't light on fire?

I have a large grill we use for the meet and greets that can be used. Also, Jim Burke Ford has a BBQ trailer that they loan out for community events. How big a grill do you need?

Hmm... we have a lot of oil workers. How big of an issue do you foresee with this date?

@Richard... nice find.

We will have a small kids event maybe more than one contest if we come up with more ideas

Similar to catch the piglet but with a 4x4 twist...

Catch the crawler.. an 18v ryobi powered rockcrawler...lol

The Crawler cannot be controlled and is very fast..so tell the kids to wear running shoes

We will have small prizes for all participants.
