FEELER

If you are thinking about doing a run and just want to put it out there, this is the place to do it.

i'm just curious >>>>>>> when i was deep into dirt bikes
i lead 3-35 riders from tehachapi to primm nevada for 13
years in a row, once a year. this was an "all dirt" desert tour.

would anybody be interested, or at least intrigued about doing
this run in jeeps, toyotas, samaris, ect.ect.
when we did it on bikes, it took about 8 hours, depending on
the group size. it would undoubtedly take an "overnighter" to
do it on all fours

i'm just curious,, :dontknow:

P.S.,,, the run goes through Calico (that could be our friday night camp)

think about it,,,,it would be like a "traveling" camping trip,,, and if you have
anything left when you get to primm,,, you can blow it at the tables on sunday :hitfan:

Im interested but it depends on whether I get my Jeep fixed and have the funds. When are you thinking? I did the Mojave trail a couple weekends ago, Ft. Mojave on the Colorado river to Barstow and had a lot of fun.

i like the mo. trail, but we can leave right from my shop in mojave, instead of trailering
to afton canyon

my wife can lead all the chase trucks/trailers, when she didn't actually do the ride with me
she lead the pavement teams.

i haven't worked out all of the details. i've done it on bikes, quads. we've had sand rails,
side x sides, prerunner trucks all go on this trip, i just modified the directions.(went the long way)

this will be a totally different twist, and i want it to be as interesting as possible.
there are a lot of options to get to yermo, but not alot to get to baker and beyond.
i knew where we would stop for fuel on bikes, and where we would have to meet the chase trucks
for fuel. a few of us should discuss things ie: its aprox 46 miles (in the dirt) from my shop to
20 mule team rd. and hwy 395, another 53 miles to yermo , we shouldn't need extra fuel for those
two legs, but it's 80 some odd miles from yermo to the road crossing 10 mls. west of baker
and 53 miles to primm from there. i suppose we could run in to baker, but thats a 20 mile round
trip, and we risk drivers loosing focus>>> lottery tickets, alien jerky, more alcohol, and eventually, FUEL

i wasn't sure that this would be appealing to anyone
so i don't have all the answers, yet :dontknow:

i figured, if we left mojave on friday afternoon, roll into calico that night,
that would cover the "night run". get ready to go in the morning, do gatekeeper
or by-pass, pop back up to mule canyon and continue north to the powerline
road and play it by ear from there.
we want to get to primm on saturday evening so we can relax, not load up
and book.

when my rig is complete, tested, gone to the ridgecrest trails, and JV, then i'll
start prerunning, and organizing this gig, if, it's still appealing to a good size group

NEW IDEA>>>>>>>> same start as the "stateline run" but,,
we make a right turn about 17 miles north of calico, cross over the freeway
head into afton canyon, end up on the "mohave trail" then we finish up in laughlin
rather than primm
and as an added bonus>>> the sunday traffic on the 40 coming home, doesn't suck
nearly as bad as the 15 :Thumb:

oooohh,,,, i like this idea,,, i've done mohave trail once, and stateline 20 times
now we'll blend them

i'm glad this is catching on BUT,,,,,

rob and i have been talking about the details, and we have
found flaws in this plan.
after i'm back on the trails, we'll etch something in stone
and propose it to the club, and hopefully , it will still be a
popular idea
