4/12/12 Meet & Greet
Thank you everyone for the best turnout we have ever had for a M&G. We filled the whole parking lot, down almost to the Roadhouse, with 4x4s. There were so many people, some had to stand outside the brick wall because the whole patio area was full. There was well over 100 people. About 10 of us stayed to we got kicked out and cut off, LITERALLY
The raffle was a giant success, and I want to thank all the sponsors, especially 4Wheel Parts, who stepped up in a HUGE way. We raised $2,460.00 at this event, which is more than enough to pay for our non-profit status, the web site, and get insurance. This event exceeded our expectations and is really going to make getting this club off its feet easy for us.
But this event wasn't just about raising some money to get the club going in the right direction, it was about making new friends. And I can't even count how many people I met for the first time at this M&G. I just wish I had the time to walk through the parking lot and drool at all the rigs and talk tech with some of the new folks. I didn't even have the time to fully appreciate Roger's 4-runner build.
And lastly, I want to recognize a man who did something very cool. Josh (crazy sami) won a winch in the raffle. He decided to give the winch to an active-duty member of infectious who is currently deployed overseas. So Mr. Chuckanut, you have a new winch for your Jeep when you get back, courtesy of Josh. A totally fucking awesome move IMO.
All Josh asked in return is that we post this picture of him acting the part of a pimp;
