Camp Fri and Sat nights at the lake, finish the trail on Sun. Great trail, great scenery, great campsite.
Some requirements (by DD)
33s, a locker, rock sliders, front & rear attachment points, and a rig in great running condition.
Also bring bring spare parts. If you don't have chromoly shafts, be prepared to handle broken ones. If you have a D35 in the rear, be prepared to deal with that. Spare u-joints, spare fluids, tire repair kit and compressor, spare brake lines, spare belts, spare high-pressure steering line, and your own tools should get you by.
This trail is very remote - more remote than the Rubicon. If your shit breaks bad, it will be left on the side of the trail until we can get a recovery crew out there the next week. So if your rig is running bad, overheating, or having problems - it is best not to attend this run
Although this trail is not too difficult, it is VERY off-camber in sections. Keep the weight as low as possible. Loading heavy stuff on a roof may cause you to flop.
A stock JKUR with a 2.5" lift made it through on our second trip to swamp last year, but a stock JKUR has 32" MT tires, D44s, Lockers, Sliders, Skids, and a 4:1 case. He bent his tie rod and did a little body damage. Aldo is also a very good driver.

That's a bummer. Obviously, you all are more than welcome to come on the TB's run. If you would like to do your own run a week earlier, just make sure you unstack the rocks after you go through.

Thanks for the invite Jeremy, I love wheeling with you guys. The problem is that so many people go on the TBs / NAXJA / IOR / 4x4him run that the good camp sites are always gone before we get there. We also had a couple of folks ask us to keep it down at night last year, which we did out of respect, but would like to do it IOR style this time!
I will leave plenty of extra steering box bolts and welding rods in camp so the NAXJA guys can get home

If you all weren't so slow on the trail, you would make it to the good camping spots! 8=) No, seriously, i know what you are saying. The TBs' is more of a family run. Lots if kids going. No worries. Like i said, you all are invited. I like wheeling with you all.

my brother and i have always wanted to wheel in this area.
do you have to carry all of your gear with you the entire time?
or do you get to the campsites and leave it?
cuz it sucks to wheel like this

You wheel in halfway to camp, then wheel out the other half of the trail, so you have to take your gear with you. Its a pretty damn long trail but the scenery and campsite is amazing. Definitely not a buggy friendly trip, lol
Just pack all of your extra gear in Jeff's Suburban

If you go Jeff it will be legendary.

Back in the day on the High Sierra Run we were not allowed to go through in a 72 Blazer on 38s due to size.
The only way to know is to try, if you get rejected try playing on Bald Mountain.

Mirror, Red and Coyote are worth it. Figure on needing an additional day or take a second trip.

desert dog mentioned "not buggy friendly"
is there a place to park trailers for the "not for street" rigs?
what about plates/ green stickers
